In their words:
Corsi has a leaning towards figurative art, but is given to an imaginary metaphysical permeated by a strong sense of irony, especially when he focuses on observing the human figure, which is, moreover, his recurring theme. Elsewhere, he suggests with a formal investigation which maintains the essential characteristics of his work, built on a strong line and interesting chromatic inclinations.

His human figures, drawn with determination and developed with vibrant colour, bring us back to archaic images with a flavour of fauvism, of which the corrosive line is almost a quotation from a Farulli of the 1960s. And yet the visual memory that guides Giorgio’s hand does not stop at satisfying itself by referring back to past greats, instead his inclination towards figurative expression delivers him with confidence towards the imaginary metaphysical, which seems at the same time to attract him and repulse him. His works make him personal and distinguishable, in an overwhelming succession of lines and colours that transform themselves into figures which are inspired by the muse of an artist in develoment, whose objective, which still does not fully satisfy him, appears almost achieved.

With colours ferociously assaulting the observer, Giorgio’s violent yet hushed sensibility becomes tangible. Through colour, every prudence is dissolved and every hesitation cancelled. Particularly in the informal paintings, the riddles Corsi presents us with leave no room for ambiguity, they are multi-coloured plugs playing forcefully with space. Another element, which conquers texture and presence, is the sinuous line which in figurative subjects presents figures in movement. Corsi is fond of the human figure shaken up and positioned on the canvas with cadenced perspectives, almost as if with music hidden in the picture mount. I find myself waiting contentedly for the evolution of Giorgio’s artistic inspiration.

Giorgio Corsi is an illustrator and character actor, painter and engraver. In his works, clear thematic concepts of a modern artist, an untiring researcher of subjects from the contemporary world, with a composite anxiety and a commitment to artistic non-conformism. Perceptions of abstract art, pictorial involvement that enforces his expressive form, with a natural and intensely colourful artistic sense, furnished with uniquely plastic qualities particularly in his human figures.
